Shizuoka is famous for green tea and oranges. It is an important prefecture in Japan, not only because Mt Fuji is there but also because it is considered typical Japanese. They do their market research there because of that. Shizuoka city is the capital of the Prefecture which is where the prefectural government is based. Shizuoka prefecture is where you will find the Izu Peninsula, where Commodore Perry first landed in Japan and the book Shogun is loosely based on him.
