Every evening, or if there was time, during the day, I'd try and make notes on what we'd been up to. The notebook starts in Lancaster, then spends a few days in Seattle before heading off to Alaska. After returning from there I spent some more time in the NorthWest, heading across Washington state into Idaho and Montana - but that was just a road trip with no sea otters involved!
